"ALICE IN WONDERLAND" 3D

The other day, I was questioned by one of my fellow classmates about the most recent Tim Burton film based upon the novel Alice in Wonderland which was released in Imax 3D a few months ago. The movie originally had high expectations, yet they were soon evaporated by mixed reviews putting a negative connotation on the film. A claim was made by several movie critics that the film had been created first and later converted into 3 dimension. This seemed to phase a lot of people, however it didn't to bother me when I went to see it for myself.
I had been anticipating the premier of Alice in Wonderland for a whole year before the trailer was even out therefore I was excited to purchase my ticket. I was very impressed by the graphics and visuals of the film. Tim Burton has always been one of my favorite producers and his appealing style was present throughout the duration of the film. Burton created a mysterious fantastical world on screen which invited the audience into the world of Alice's imagination. Burton's spectacular combination of design elements, a precise color palette, the brilliant personality of each character, and of course the story line equally aided the success (in my opinion) of the movie.

3-dimensional films have been around since 1980, however none have been as involved or successfully popular in the movie picture industry until 2010. 3D movies are intended to spark an aspect of interactivity for the audience to experience and in my opinion, it proved to be a positive element in this one. Overall I felt that Tim Burton's use of 3D added a vibrant depth to the visual experience of the film which was extremely effective.
