ART 307 Entry: Danielle

'Tis currently Cinco de Mayo as we happily sit within the cool Mac Lab quarters. We are learning how to work a new program called FireWorks in order to create a website (or whatever else we please).
Fireworks is a bitmap and vector graphics editor that was specifically created for web production and is compatible with Dreamweaver and Flash. Fireworks enables hotspots, slices and other tools that Dreamweaver cannot do on its own. Hierarchical layers and graphic styles can be added to interfaces which can be created via Fireworks. It has a better compression rate for images than Photoshop does when dealing with JPEG, PNG, and GIF files. Animations and interactive buttons (such as up, down, over, and back) are able to be produced through this program. I have personally never worked with Fireworks prior to this class, however it seems like a great tool to use instead of solely working through Dreamweaver when creating a site, especially if it involves interactivity. I have been doing a few tutorials to learn a bit more about this program.

Miniature clementines and Babybel cheese wheels proved to be a sufficient breakfast for Danielle as she plans on inhaling 2 large bowls of guacamole, 1 chicken quesadilla, and 8 sides of sour cream as soon as class ends. Jaclyn enjoyed herself a delightful, toothpaste-enhanced microscopic orange as she cringed after each bite due to the bitterness. Shame on her for not knowing better than to do such naughty things. Deon, aka Dee, was also granted one piece of fruit and it left a smile on her face. We's books must be completed by today for the portfolio review in Philadelphia tomorrow so we can have the opportunity to take advantage of this glorious weather.

*Advice from Danielle Z. CherChe-O: Be careful when creating passwords. Before you know it, you have 18 different passwords for 18 different purposes and you can't remember any of them. Keep them consistent. Use the same password for everything.
